Study the Revenants...!

Towards a Golden Age

The foremost city of the Chaldeans was Ashur, which lay near the present-day location of Sanguine. It was founded by the legendary Ashur-Sin I, who conquered the numerous city-states of the Eannic delta, and was crowned the first king of all Chaldeans.

The Chaldean civilization came into being during a period of relative regional peace. However, their wealth soon proved tempting to neighboring human tribes, who took to raiding and plundering outlying villages and towns. In response to this, the Chaldeans launched a series of successful military campaigns against the belligerent nomads who roamed the peripheries of their land.

When faced with the problem of becalming the conquered barbarians, emperor Ashur-Awan II formulated policies which would shape the future of Chaldea . He decreed that cities be built in barbarian lands, and that the conquered tribes be invited to live in them. Furthermore, the citizens of these new cities would be taught how to farm and make tools. Upon swearing allegiance to Ashur, they would be given full rights as citizens of the empire.

Did they ever want their citizenship? Perhaps, perhaps not.

I've been sent on a quest to study the history of the Revenants that inhabit ancient ruins as if it were as it had always been. Fae and I went to try and meet these people and they towered over us and gathered around their few numbers in curiosity as we were examining the ruins. Without warning one of them blinded us and we scrambled to a hiding spot and quickly realized that they had surrounded us.

One of the Alfar was jumped and was resurrected only to find that not everything was left on his corpse when he returned. He had eyed us suspiciously with the thought that we had taken the food and goodies left on his corpse but we did not do such a thing.

Meanwhile, Fae and I fought off the Revenants and were able to defeat the small party, but we knew that more were coming. Their equipment may as well be considered artifacts as it gave us a lot of insight into ancient Necromancy and Witchcraft techniques. Their magic we may be able to translate but unfortunately the only way to get it was from force. They do not seem to be interested in talking.

When we returned with the new found information we were sent to find some Troll's blood for testing to see if they had any relation to the Revenants and to uncover more history in ways that we had never been able to do before.

During my adventures, I had recovered more of the 'M' keys and with a party we fought our way to the Troll Lords floating island again. I went up alone at first and had almost died a few times but several came to my aid and we were able to recover lots of stolen goods.

Before the end of the night I had dropped down and assisted a raid on a Troll village. I helped a fellow Alfar resurrect and recover his belongings but it was not easy as many of my items broke.

Before leaving, I had left some messages behind that hopefully will only be translated in a way that can end this madness. We never wanted it to come to this.

Melek, forgive us and thank you for your blessings.

Watch it take place here!
